WE SANG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Danny at our Italian-themed office potluck this past Monday. Daniel is the distribution manager and has created a big imprint on the city scape of Los Angeles. Every time you pass a Working World newsrack think of Danny. He’s responsible for making sure the magazines get delivered through rain, shine, riots, earthquakes or Laker victory celebrations. Working World is published every three weeks and delivered to their homes racks the street like clockwork 17 times a year. Thanks and birthday wishes to Danny!

TAYLOR’S is a very dark place that seems to be caught in a time-warp. Indeed, it’s doubtful that any updating of decor has taken place since its doors were opened at 8th and Normandie in 1953. Taylors is where we go for lunch when we’re craving London Broil and a salad made from iceberg lettuce covered with blue cheese dressing. It’s also where the sales team goes on Friday nights of deadline when we’re waiting for pages. This is when all ad copy is in and we’re just waiting for Dustin to finish building the signature so we can proof it and upload it to the printer. This time period is fondly called “The Dead Zone.” And what better way to kill time than by lounging at a stuffed naughahyde booth sipping a Cuba Libre (rum and coke) in the dark with your team mates.
