You may think they’re super stylish — after all,  Jimmy Choo and Prada are doing it, all the high-end lines. Problem is, your male bosses, especially if they’re a little older, don’t frequent Nordstom Shoes and don’t care much about fashion. When they see those platform pumps with the 5-inch heel, they think one thing: exotic dancer. Those shoes are the trademark of girls who work at the Bada Bing. Trust me on this. Your female boss will notice your shoes, and when caught staring may offer up a compliment. But what she’s really thinking, especially if she’s a little older, is that you don’t get it.

Young women may contend that they’re in a creative industry, like entertainment or fashion. Even so, hobbling around on your stilettos worried that a snag in the carpet could send you to urgent care is not the way to inspire confidence. Save them for a night out clubbing.
