THERE ARE about 2,000 street-mounted newsracks that distribute Working World magazine throughout Southern California. We are definitely part of the cityscape of Los Angeles. While the red square newsrack is our icon, the truth is that our distibution kiosks come in all shapes and colors depending on the location. In Long Beach, they’re blue. In Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, wood-grained. The city of Los Angeles recently changed its ordinance requiring all newsracks to be green. We are in the process of changing out our red racks to comply with the new color code. Don’t worry — it’s the same great magazine no matter what color the newsrack!
