PUTTING TOGETHER each issue is like doing a jigsaw puzzle. We have columnists that submit their articles, which need to be photo edited, then copy edited, typeset and proofed before going to press. The editorial pages need to be balanced with ad pages, and the cover, table of contents and house ads. We like to work ahead on editorial, but most of the juggling takes place on Friday of deadline.

All our writers are fantastic and have a devoted following. We get calls when columns are skipped, but for space reasons sometimes we don’t have a choice. If you like a particular article, you can find it online and save it into in your favorites under the ‘My Working World’ tab.

We are currently planning for a very interesting cover feature on how to train for a new “green” job. The stimulus package promises growth in this area and we’ll tell you how to get onboard.
